When Alex told me about a week ago she wanted a bigger bed (she still sleeps in her converted crib/toddler bed) I made a star chart for her to earn stars towards getting her new bed. We looked around on the internet at different types of beds and she discovered BUNK BEDS, which pretty much has her head spinning with delirious excitement. She has to earn 400 stars to get her bed and she can earn a maximum of four stars a day, but four is an exceptionally good day, by 1. taking charge of the utensils, 2. keeping toys and clothes organized and picked up, 3. playing well with Rory all day and 4. a bonus for whatever Mommy and Daddy deem star-worthy at any given time. We have motivational rewards placed throughout the chart (for instance, at 100 stars, we get to go pick out her new bed sheets). We've been having a lot of fun with this.

That is so cute! I love your reward idea and can't wait until Ellie is old enough for me to try some creative ideas like that.

kids are so cute! what a great creative idea to help her earn her new big girl bed. it will make it so worth it for her when she gets all 400 stars!
